Evenlode Catchment Partnership
Guiding an environmental partnership through a user-friendly redesign
The Evenlode Catchment Partnership (ECP) is a collaboration of over 30 organisations and numerous individuals dedicated to improving water quality, enhancing biodiversity, and managing flood risks across the Evenlode catchment area.
After several iterations of their website, ECP realised they had difficulty communicating their message. With numerous stakeholders involved and a lot of information to convey, they weren’t sure which direction to take next. That’s when they reached out to us for help.
We kicked things off with an in-person workshop in the heart of the beautiful Cotswolds. The workshop comprised several guided exercises designed to get everyone’s input and to start exploring how a new website would look and function.
After the workshop and writing up our findings in a discovery document, it was time to start the design process. We created a new sitemap and low-fidelity wireframes using FigJam and then used Sketch to create the final visuals. After several iterations, we landed on a beautiful design fitting for the ECP.
Once the visuals were signed off, we began building a custom WordPress theme and the ECP got to work gathering and writing content. Trello was used to manage project feedback as the build progressed.
We built a series of custom blocks for Gutenberg, allowing the ECP team to create and edit content pages easily. As everything on the site is custom-built, we kept the number of plugins installed to a minimum so the site loads incredibly quickly.
